Vision

St. Louis Area Meeting Professionals International (St. Louis Area Chapter MPI) will be recognized as the premier organization in offering quality education and networking opportunities within the meetings and hospitality industry, both locally and globally.

Mission

St. Louis Area Meeting Professionals International will:

Position itself as a vehicle to promote the value of the meeting and hospitality professional
Position itself as an integral resource for education, networking, and career development at all levels in the meetings and hospitality industry
Position itself as an advocate for community service and recognition

Strategies

1. Education

Be the Leading Resource of Quality Education for the Greater St. Louis Meetings and Hospitality Industry

Budget funding for quality education
Create educational programs which enhance attendance and value at all levels of professional expertise
Research and develop education partners with universities and associations
Research and develop trade show opportunities
Research and develop distance learning programs

2. Communication

Communicate the Value of St. Louis Area Chapter MPI through an Aggressive Public Relations Campaign

Create and distribute a pre event press release for every St. Louis Area Chapter MPI group event
Create and distribute a post event press release for every St. Louis Area Chapter MPI group event
Provide articles and releases monthly to local, regional and national publications
Identify high profile volunteer opportunities for membership participation

3. Administration

Maintain a Sound Financial Base while Exploring New Investment & Foundation Opportunities

Maintain a balanced budget
Produce and maintain reserve levels of 35% of annual operating budget
Seek investment advice from a professional investment advisor
Research MPI Foundation and Bob Green Scholarship endowment opportunities
Develop St. Louis Area Chapter MPI Web site as revenue resource

Establish a Partnership Marketing Program

Develop an active committee exclusively responsible for Partnership Marketing
Create partnership recognition program

Use “leading-edge” Technology to Educate and Communicate Wherever and Whenever Possible

Increase communication via St. Louis Area Chapter MPI Web site
Create on-line education resource guide
Create on-line calendar
Create on-line membership directory

4. Membership

Enhance Member Care

Develop and implement plan to communicate return on investment of St. Louis Area Chapter MPI membership
Increase membership to 300
Create a diversity in membership, targeting industries and professions often overlooked
Promote career development
Promote national certification recognition programs

5. Networking

Establish a Leadership Development Program

Develop an active committee exclusively responsible for identifying, training and transition of board members

Create an Environment that Promotes and Recognizes the Value and Importance of having Fun

Create and promote an environment for leadership to have fun and lead by example
Develop and promote a team-building project that brings all levels of membership together on an annual basis
Maintain an open environment for networking and laughter
